Apple would be about to acquire Shazam, the music recognition app

Definitely, the company of the apple continues taking big steps in the subject related to music.

Everything indicates that Apple has been in negotiations with Shazam, the popular music recognition application, to acquire the platform and further strengthen its streaming business.

According to TechCrunch, sources close to the matter assure that the agreement will be signed this week and will be officially announced on Monday.

At the moment no further details of the agreement that the two companies could sign are known. Some say it could be a sale of “nine figures”, while others indicate that the negotiation would close at 300 million pounds sterling (the equivalent of 401 million dollars.

For those who do not know, Shazam is an application capable of helping users to identify songs, movies, programs and television ads. The application was officially launched in 1999 in the United Kingdom, but at that time it was a service that worked with an SMS code.

Even his first name was 2580, because the interested party called the number 2580, had his song heard for 30 seconds on the phone, and then received an SMS with the title and the author.

TechCrunch ensures that neither Apple nor Shazam have made reference to the matter, so we will have to wait to see if within the next few days we know more details of this acquisition, which could be one of the most interesting made by the firm of Cupertino this 2017, because it could be integrated to Apple Music, driving much more the growth of this platform.
