The Mac mini was not dead, had a party. On the third anniversary of his last update I wondered if it already makes any sense to continue selling that model of Mac, but here is Tim Cook to say that he was completely wrong and to say that the Mac mini will be an “important part” of Apple’s future.
The Apple CEO has responded to a MacRumors reader who has asked the same question, telling him that Apple loves the Mac mini and mentioning that consumers have found many approaches to using it. Although logically he has not revealed any interesting details about it.
Can the Mac mini survive with its original focus?
Now what I’m wondering is, will they give a new focus to that Mac mini or will it still be a cheap desktop alternative for anyone looking to skip the Mac?
It should not be a high priority project with the rise of iOS terminals and laptops, but it still amazes me that they want to keep giving it life.
Be that as it may, they redesign or retain their current appearance, it will be interesting to see how they plan to continue to sell it.
Maybe, just maybe, we’ll find some clues with the arrival of the modular Mac Pro early next year. As always, we have to wait.
