Dell UltraSharp UP3218K: the first 8K monitor

Dell has introduced its new high-end monitor: a model 32-inch 8K display a near resolution of 300 dpi.

At the CES 2017, the manufacturer unveiled its Dell UltraSharp monitor UP3218K. It embeds a 32-inch IPS display a monstrous slab definition 7680 x 4320 px. Dell ad viewing angles of 178 °, a 100% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space, sRGB and Rec.709, 98% of DCI-P3 and over 80% of Rec.2020, but does not communicate on response time. Also according to Dell, reach maximum brightness 400 cd / m2 when the contract amount to 1 300: 1.

A very good brightness is announced, and a very good rate for an IPS monitor. This definition 8K only useful for image professionals, including a photo, looking to get a resolution of 280 pixels per inch, close to 300 dpi paper.

Video connector consists of only two DisplayPort 1.3 inputs simultaneously used to manage the slab 8K (one DisplayPort 1.3 can handle 8K but only 4: 2: 0). There are also a headphone output and four USB 3.0 ports.

The foot – common to other high-end UltraSharp monitors – allows height adjustment, rotation, tilt and in portrait mode transition.

This monitor is free of flicker (Flicker-Free) and is equipped with a filter blue light (ComfortView). It also benefits from the Premium Panel Guarantee, which allows changing the screen from the first dead pixel.

The Dell UltraSharp UP3218K monitor will be available later in April for about $ 5,000 price, or at least as much in euros.
