E3 2017: Considerations on the Ubisoft Conference

There is still the Nintendo event but there is no doubt at the moment: Ubisoft’s conference was the best.

EA, Sony, Microsoft, and Bethesda have surely generated interesting and enjoyable events, but the French software house has depleted especially the “Final Bomb”: the unexpected trailer of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

The Ubisoft conference lasted for exactly 60 minutes: an event characterized by a rushing pace where a trailer , video gameplay, explanations and pleasant surprises did not miss.

A title park worthy of note ranging in different genres, capable of capturing the interest of the whole video gaming world.

The conference opens with the much-rumored Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, dedicated exclusively to Nintendo Switch, and even Shigeru Miyamoto is on stage, greeted by a cheerful applause.

The new game that will see the famous character of Mario’s universe together with the funny and irreverent Rabbids of Ubisoft has been able to excite everyone and we’re sure it will become a “Must Have.” A new adventure with hundreds of weapons and strategic round fighting in the perfect Disgaea and XCOM style.

The good news is definitely the release date set for August 29th: to tackle the fun Mario + the Rabbids Kingdom Battle you will not have to wait for an infinite time.

Interesting and unexpected is the Ubisoft Singapore project, which presented Skull & Bones, a new online naval IP only that will allow players to experience the pirate experience they have always dreamed of.

The insidious waters of the ocean will be the scene of fascinating naval battles aboard large ships. The game is expected to be released by the end of 2018 on PCs and consoles of Sony and Microsoft, and a future beta has also been confirmed.

Skull & Bones is undoubtedly an interesting title, though quite special, it is likely that if a Free to Play distribution model was to succeed, it would be guaranteed.

Of course, Ubisoft’s top titles are farcical: Far Cry 4, South Park: Riddles, Assassin’s Creed Origins, which after a one-year break will return to our platforms in a few months, and The Crew 2, featuring an open structure World, this time will lead us to different types of vehicles, including motorcycles, aircraft, and motorboats.

Another title certainly noteworthy is the newly announced Transference, a psychological thriller, a little exploited by Ubisoft. An adventure in which players will explore a digital reconstruction of the mind, trying to unlock the secrets of a home that hides a corrupt truth. Exploration, puzzles, and choices that can change the course of the narrative will be the key elements of gameplay.

Transference, as well as on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, will also be faced with Virtual Reality devices (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR).

The novelties are not over yet, and the French software house has also decided to enter the world of Toys to Life, with Starlink: Battle for Atlas. An open world that will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Switch, set in space and featured by Smart Building Technology, a system for assembling and customizing spacecraft in the real world.

Every new part added to the ship will immediately appear on the one inside the game and users will have fun with different abilities, weapon types, state effects, and trigger devastating combo on their enemies.

Announced the unmissable Just Dance 2018, a new expansion for Steep dedicated to the Winter Olympics and the arrival of South Park on mobile devices with a card game.

But let’s say the truth, the announcement that made everyone jump from the chairs was the presentation trailer of Beyond Good & Evil 2. A series that has entered the heart of many gamers who for 14 years have been eagerly awaiting this second chapter that has finally been officially announced.

Final Thoughts

Undoubtedly the best conference PRE-E3 2017 is from the point of view of the rhythm and the line-up presented. Titles that really range in all genres: from adventure, racing game arcade, to action, to music (Just Dance 2018), to the thriller and even Toys to Life.

Titles to be dealt with in single player, others in multiplayer both competitive and cooperative: Virtually Ubisoft does not miss anything.

All the games shown have the cards in place to be real successes remains to see if Ubisoft has learned from past mistakes and this time it will release optimized titles at best and without bugs that do not need continuous corrective patches after launch.
