Garmin has presented the update of its range of Forerunner pulsometers, one of the best-selling watches in the market focused on sports activity. The update includes an important revision with five different models that must cover all the market ranges. We review them.

Forerunner 45 and 45S

They are the most basic and economical of the presentation. Like other activity trackers, they are designed to be used 24/7 in sleep monitoring, step counts, distances traveled in sports or calories burned. Both offer a control function called Body Battery, which allows users to “focus on their well-being and better plan their day to optimize times of activity and rest. ”

There are not too many differences between them. Both have built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring and a battery life that can last up to 7 days when used in smartwatch mode (13 hours with active GPS). The only difference seems to be the size. The standard Forerunner 45 uses a 42-millimeter chassis, while the 45S uses a 39-millimeter box for users with smaller dolls.

Forerunner 245 and 245 Music

A step above the previous, but similar in function, the difference is that the ‘Music’ model increases its internal storage to store 500 songs. You can also synchronize streaming service playlists such as Spotify and Deezer.

Both track the activity and offer information about the training. They are equipped with Pulse Ox sensors and V02 max monitoring tools and, like the 45 series clocks, offer a battery life of up to 7 days in smartwatch mode (24 hours in GPS mode and 6 hours in GPS mode with music ).

Forerunner 945

The best and most expensive of the Forerunner pulsometers presented, is compatible with Garmin Pay, has enough space for 1,000 songs and includes maps in full color so you do not get lost when you go out to run. It has built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring, Pulse Ox, V02 max, and compatibility with chest bands.

It includes more activity profiles and a lot of parameter information for all kinds of sports, race time, step frequency, vertical movement or contact time with the ground. Its chassis is waterproof to 5 ATM and the battery life reaches 2 weeks when used in smartwatch mode, 36 hours in GPS mode and 10 hours in GPS mode with music. Like the previous ones, it offers smartphone notifications to show emails, SMS and other alarms directly on the watch.

The new Garmin Forerunner heart rate monitors will be available starting in May in some regions, with prices ranging from 199 dollars in the 45 series to 599 in the 945 models.
