On the day before yesterday, Google announced the acquisition of the Owlchemy Lab company, specializing in creating VR games for major platforms such as Oculus, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.

Owlchemy Lab company

Big G continues to believe and invests heavily in virtual reality, both with its Daydream platform and with Google Earth VR, YouTube and Street View, for which it has recently launched a new standard that will facilitate 360 degrees sharing on the network.

Owlchemy Lab was founded in 2011 and among its most successful titles are Job Simulator and Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, both featuring a particularly interactive, engaging and entertaining virtual experience.

The entity will remain intact, leaving unchanged the ability to continue playing games for other platforms, leveraging Google team experience and collaboration.

Here is a small excerpt from the official statement:

We have to welcome this new union with optimism and wait for its first fruits that will certainly be very interesting.
