Microsoft Edge

As we had said a couple of months ago, Microsoft’s browser has just been officially launched for iOS, although currently, it’s only available to users in the United States.

Microsoft Edge joins Chrome and Firefox, two browsers that have been in the Apple app store for a while.

One of the main features of Microsoft Edge in iOS is the ability to start a specific task in the desktop version, to finish it on the phone, and vice versa. Similarly, bookmarks, history, reading list, and eBooks are also synchronized in both versions.

Microsoft Edge functions in iOS

IOS users in the United States can now download the browser on their mobile devices, and we hope it will reach other markets soon.

In addition to the ‘Continue on PC’ function, below we share some of the features that the Edge mobile app will bring.

  • QR code scanner: scan a QR code to search your content directly from the browser.
  • InPrivate: Edge’s incognito mode is also available in the mobile version.
  • Data Sync: synchronize your favorites between mobile and PC.
  • Hub View: manage your favorites, history, books and reading on a single screen.
  • Read mode: reorganize the content of a website to make it easier to read.
  • Voice search: use your voice to search and find content.

We’ll have to wait to see if Microsoft will manage to reach a significant number of users, remember that in the case of iOS, Safari is the default browser, so all the links of other apps open in Apple’s browser, which has fact that positions as the preferred by 96.1% of iOS users.
