Apple is “Re-Release” the iPhone 6 back in Asia

There is actually the 2017 “Limited Edition” of the iPhone 6. The smartphone from 2014, which for the first time had a plus model and the larger housing dimensions of 4.7″ or 5.5″, actually experienced the past Autumn the sale.

iPhone 6

At that time it was replaced by the new iPhone 7.

But on the other side of the globe, it is back in the offer, not via Apple directly, because neither the online store nor the stores sell the 2017 Edition.

However, certain East Asian mobile telephony providers such as Taiwan Mobile offer it again in combination with certain tariffs. That it is not old models, you can see the concrete version: It is only in the color gold and only with a memory space of 32 GB to have.

At the time, there were only 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB storage options for the iPhone 6; It is actually a new edition.

Not the first iPhone with “re-release”

Apple itself has not expressed itself. This suggests that no return of the popular 2014 iPhone is conceived on a grand scale, as a new entry-level device at a reasonable price.

This would be a highly unusual step anyway. Apple had in the past already several times decided to offer products sold in Europe and the USA in the growth markets of Asia.

For example, in 2013, the company used the “re-release” as the iPhone 4, which had already disappeared, once again appeared on the market in India. However, this was not a special edition with modified specifications.

By the way, Taiwan Mobile offers the device in line with a tariff for 898 New Taiwan dollars per month. This equates about 27.50 euros per month. The minimum running time is 30 months.

If you would like to have an iPhone 6, you will find it at Amazon from 499.90 Euro at 16 GB, or 589.90 at 64 GB. The comparison is, of course, difficult because the Taiwanese offer includes smartphone and telephone tariff, and also has the unknown 32-GB memory size.

The iPhone 6 represents the most successful iPhone generation to date, even the successor 6s came to not quite as high sales figures.
