The 25th Creators Update arrives on Windows 10 Mobile and the terminals to update may not be as many as you expected

Next Tuesday, April 11, is the date chosen by Microsoft to publicly launch its spring update. The Creators Update has already set the “D” day in the calendar so that anyone who wants to update their equipment. Everybody?

Windows 10 Mobile

No, not all, since mobile phones with Windows 10 Mobile will have to wait a little longer. The owners of one of these models will not see the Creators Update arrive until April 25th, almost three weeks after that although it will not do them any good if it was good news. Better late than never.

But do not launch the bells on the fly, especially after reading what Mary Jo Folie says that always offers reliable information.

And is that the editor of ZDNet that we remember has very close and reliable information about Microsoft, has had access to a list of the terminals that would benefit from this update. It is a list that for now, and that should be made clear, it is not backed by an official confirmation, but there is to have a future track.

And this list is missing some models, something that will not like many users. This is the list of terminals that at first would see as the update arrives at Creators Update:

  • Alcatel IDOL 4S
  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
  • HP Elite x3
  • Lenovo Softbank 503LV
  • MCJ Madosma Q601
  • Microsoft Lumia 550
  • Microsoft Lumia 640 / 640XL
  • Microsoft Lumia 850
  • Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL
  • Trinity NuAns Neo
  • VAIO VPB051
  • A short list, do not you think?

This is a list that could, as time goes by, increase and see how new phone models are added. But the truth is that it does not stop to surprise as in this list does not appear some iconic phones of Microsoft that yes that already count on Windows 10 Mobile like operating system.

Microsoft is hiding in the hardware of the device to not be able to receive an update and eye, which is a non-exclusive movement of Microsoft since we have already seen similar cases for example in Google with the devices Nexus and Android. Or even Apple, although it does not deny the updates in a resounding if it is striking that come to a certain point rather than benefit listen to the operation of the older iPhone or iPad.

“[…] As with other updates to Windows, a device may not be able to receive an update if the hardware it has is incompatible, has no current drivers, or is the Manufacturer of original equipment. These devices will continue to receive security fixes and services in accordance with our support policy.”

In the case of Microsoft, the story is also repeated, since with the arrival of Windows 10 Mobile were enough users who complained because their phone had not been included in the list to update them.

This made the list expand later with some more models, something that we hope to repeat if, in the end, this list becomes a reality, a fact that we have to remember, for now, it is not confirmed.
