The remake of Tomb Raider 2 made by fans already has demo … and weighs 4GB

The remakes made by fans surfaced by the network of networks and although many do not finish arriving at the good part, in other cases they have even had the approval of the original creators.

We do not know which of the two situations is ‘Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian‘, the unofficial remake of ‘Tomb Raider 2’, but what we have clear is that you can put it to the test.

The last time we heard about this remake was the final appearance of the first cave of the game, making clear the goal of Nicobass, responsible for the project.

Five months later, it is possible to approach it with the archeologist par excellence of video games through a free demo for PC and that is offered from the website of ‘Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian’.

‘Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian’ is not meant to be an HD copy of the original Tomb Raider 2 game, but a real remake. In fact, several elements will be reimagined to match what is expected of the current games.

That yes, although the idea is to recover the game that came out two decades ago, we will need a more updated team to be able to run this demo.

On the one hand, the Nicobass team has provided the minimum requirements, which are not very concise but reasonable. However, it is noteworthy to ask for 6GB of space at the rate of 2GB to download the download file and another four that are once we have decompressed.

Minimum requirements

  • OS
    Windows 7 x64
    Any DivX 11 compatible card
  • RAM
    4GB (8GB recommended)
6GB (1.8GB for the download file and 4GB for the folder once we have unzipped it).
Any software capable of decompressing ‘.rar’ files (like Winzip)

The purpose of this demo is to properly display the new technical section and the new features that will be with respect to ‘Tomb Raider II’.

In fact, although this initiative does not have a set date, it indicates that the demo will represent the final quality of the initiative

Now, from the beginning, we are warned that Tomb Raider fans will probably solve it in a very short time. The idea is to give some impressions of the quality, which has sacrificed the amount of game covered.

On the other hand, it must be said that Square Enix is doing very well with the saga ‘Tomb Raider’: the last two installments have been the return that the series had needed for decades, and his new film adaptation promises to continue along the same lines.

Definitely, the age – and the support of its fans – feels great to Lara Croft.
