The Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is undeniably one of the most anticipated mobile devices of 2016 but did not deliver.

Now that new details have leaked, new design rumors have surfaced online.

The Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is set to pack only the highest specs currently out in the market and will be a direct competitor to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup.

This is due to the fact that the Surface Phone will be featuring a Surface Pen to be hidden in a slot that looks like a USB Type-C port.

The leaked drawing of the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 does not feature a headphone jack, which might be following suit with what the iPhone 7 currently offers, as well as the rumored upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8.

If this were true, then this would surely have a negative impact on the sales of the Microsoft Surface Phone. Some reports have also noted that the patent drawings for the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 have a striking resemblance to the current Lumia range design language.

However, there are no Fingerprint sensor and Camera button. This then means that the Surface Phone might incorporate the Windows Hello facial recognition technology instead.

The Surface Pen included in the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is one of the most highly anticipated features of the upcoming smartphone.

This is especially due to the fact that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update supporting Windows Ink Workspace software, incorporating apps such as Sticky Pad, Sketchpad, and Screen Sketch.

The Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is now reportedly under its trial production stage with the company’s manufacturing partner Pegatron. The Surface Phone is then expected to be released in Fall 2017.

The Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is expected to come with the upcoming Snapdragon 835 processor from Qualcomm, coupled with a tremendous 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage
