Facebook is testing M, a chat bot technology based on artificial intelligence, capable of intervening in conversations between users to provide useful information and perform certain actions adapted to the context of the discussion.
In a future closer than we imagine, conversation conducted through Facebook Messenger could be considered a “brain” AI, able to understand the context of the discussion and to make a contribution, answering some questions, providing useful information or inserting forms of politeness in our place.
M chat assistant suggestions are visible now only a limited group of users in the US, but it is possible that the new service will soon be accessible to a wider audience.
