Nine-year-old sold his Xbox One to help homeless people
Seeing some freezing homeless people in his street, a nine-year-old decided to give up his Christmas present, an Xbox One. Instead, he bought the homeless blankets for the winter.

As the boy Mikah Frye tells Fox 8 Cleveland, he and his parents were also homeless for a short time three years ago. They only got blankets from the homeless shelter, only when they found a house to live again did they get their own.

So the boy came up with the idea to buy his own blankets for the homeless in his area. He asked his grandmother to pay for these blankets. She replied that he wanted to give up one of his Christmas presents to finance the blankets.

A short time later he came back to her, with a simple calculation that turned to one of his most cherished desires:[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]   “If the Xbox costs $300 and a blanket $10, then I can buy you 30 blankets.” [/perfectpullquote]

Said and done. In all, Mikah and his family donated 60 blankets to the Access organization, which also helped the family during their time on the streets. Each of the blankets contains a small letter that Mikah himself wrote.

To read on it is:

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]”When I was six years old, my mother and I lived in churches. They gave me a blanket, but I had to give them back. That’s why I want you to have your own blanket. Today I live in my own house and eventually, you will too! Your friend Mikah.”[/perfectpullquote]

But that’s not the end of the story! Because the media were aware of the story of little Mikah and reported about it, Microsoft also got wind of the story.

To reward him for his efforts and his renouncement of the Xbox One, the local Microsoft branch invited the little boy to him – and handed him a new Xbox One S with Minecraft, which he took speechless and tears of joy.
