Samsung will detail the processor features of the Galaxy S9 on January 4

Intense day in what the future of the Samsung Galaxy S9 is concerned. And it is that everything points to the firm finalizing all the preparations to present its expected new flagship.

As the model moves through the FCC to achieve the necessary commercial licenses, now the official announcement of the Galaxy S9 processor – and Galaxy S9 + – is added. And it is that the technology confirms the date of the event in which will break all the features and performance of the Samsung Exynos 9810.

Currently, the rivals to beat in the semiconductor market are the Apple A11 Bionic and Huawei Kirin 970. Qualcomm has already presented its proposal with the Snapdragon 845 and Samsung will do it next January 4, on the prolegomena of the CES of Las Vegas (from 9 to 14 January). This has been confirmed by Samsung’s chip division through its official Twitter account.

So, and although we already had evidence of some details of the Samsung Exynos 9810, will be on January 4 the day chosen by the South Koreans to detail the features and performance of the Galaxy S9 processor.

While it is expected that the power of this SoC is similar to that offered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, the letter (“that goes beyond a component”) left in the tweet published a few hours ago by the company makes us think that the new Exynos 9810 could surprise us with new capabilities.

Is it artificial intelligence? It is very possible, given the advance of competition in this area, with Huawei and Apple at the forefront. After all, the South Koreans have already made important advances thanks to their personalized voice assistant, Bixby.

Galaxy S9 Proccessor

Far from speculation, what we do know with precision is that the processor of the Galaxy S9 will have a second generation of the manufacturing process in 10 nanometers, which will result in a more efficient CPU with more capacity to dissipate heat (it will heat up less full performance).

It will also be the first SoC of the firm to include a Cat 18 LTE modem with 6CA support, capable of providing download rates of 1.2 Gbps. In this regard, it represents an increase of 20% compared to the values offered by the current Samsung Exynos 8995, the processor of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.
