Rumored or rather dreamed of, among fans for years now, Ubisoft has just officially announced that it has already given the green light to the development of Splinter Cell Remake. A new title directed by Ubisoft Toronto that will rebuild the original game from scratch, using Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine.
This is the same engine that is used to develop Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as well as the next Star Wars game, promising to offer us images and gameplay worthy of the next generation, as well as dynamic lighting and improved shadows, perfect details to make shine. to this well-known series.
Additionally, the company has not only published some previews of information about a new project of the adventures of Sam Fisher but also leaves us with a short presentation video in which, although we can only see images of previous games, it offers us some extensive interviews with three of the main developers: Chris Auty, Matt West and Peter Handrinos, creative director, producer, and technical producer respectively.
According to these three-game makers, Splinter Cell Remake is still in the early stages of development and, in fact, they are looking for new profiles to join the team. In the interview, available in full in the Ubisoft statement, they explain that they will be based on the first game to build it from scratch, moving away from a simple remastering, achieving a graphical improvement but also a much deeper tactical stealth system that does justice to the advancements that the first installment incorporated in 2002.
However, the game will continue to maintain the basic essence of the original title, ensuring in this regard that it will be a fully linear game, without including any open-world dynamics as suggested by some rumors.
Although not many more details have been given, they assure that they want to achieve a delivery that pleases both fans of the saga and new players, keeping the essence of Splinter Cell intact while taking it to new graphic and technical levels with advances in lighting, animations, gameplay, artificial intelligence, and even sound.
